Or, return to the new, freakish Delicious City. 06-06-2008 Attention New York Times: We Are Not Idiots Online NYT headline from yesterday (below) makes it sound like capitalists are suddenly jumping into the food business. Some of us know that a majority chunk of the global food supply is under the control of a handful of multinational corporations. Monopoly capitalism doesn't work chapter #3454: people are starving in record numbers and there are food riots erupting all over the world. This is my last post for the summer. I can't really blog about fancy food and gourmet indulgences when all I can think about is the hourglass - with farmers on top, consumers on the bottom, and greedy speculative multinationals in the middle - putting on the squeeze.
